3ds Max Design 2011 - new licences

Autodesk 3ds Max Design 2011 software offers compelling new techniques for bringing designs to life by aggregating data, iterating ideas, and presenting the results. Streamlined, intelligent data exchange workflows and innovative new modelling and visualisation tools help significantly increase designers’ creativity and productivity, enabling them to better explore, validate, and communicate the stories behind their designs.

3ds Max Design's comprehensive 3D modelling, animation, and rendering solution includes Exposure lighting simulation and analysis technology; Recognize™ scene loading toolset, for accurate importing of Revit 2010 software lights, materials, and cameras; and Reveal rendering technology for accelerated creative workflows.

Import and export surfaces and solids non-destructively between 3ds Max Design and other application supporting SAT files such as Revit Architecture, Rhine, SolidWorks and FormZ. Imported trimmed surfaces, solids models, and assemblies are represented as 3ds Max Design “bodies”, retaining the native mathematical description of the surface. This enables cut-aways and reveals to be represented without artifacts, and for different tessellation parameters to be used for interactive display and rendering.

New & Enhanced Features Include

Interoperability with Autodesk applications including Revit Architecture using FBX-based Recognize scene loading technology or DWG files.

Improved importing for Autodesk Inventor models allows solid objects to be imported as 3ds Max Design bodies without the need for Autodesk Inventor to be installed on the same machine.

The updated Google SketchUp Importer allows Google SketchUp version 6 and 7 files to be imported into 3ds Max Design 2011 more efficiently. The enhanced SketchUp Importer supports layers, groups, components, materials, cameras, and the daylight system, and enables users to directly import SketchUp files from the Google 3D Warehouse.

Exposure Lighting Analysis enables you to achieve more sustainable designs by analysing how sun, sky and artifical lighting interact with your design.

Improved viewport display allows almost every material and texture map to be viewed allowing for better decisions to be made within the display environment.
